Vision, Fundraising & Theatre Night a Success!

Sincere thanks to all participants

On June 4, WNPEI invited the community to take part in a special brainstorming session. The members of the audience were first treated to creative plays presented at the Watermark Theatre in North Rustico through the Canada 300 program.

After a brief intermission, where the guests mingled and gathered their thoughts, we sat down to business and discussed the following question:

Knowing the key issues PEI women face, recognizing the strengths of WNPEI, and acknowledging the limited resources available, what specific role do you see WNPEI having in raising the status of women on PEI?

Event participants inspired by Canada 300 short plays brainstorming to answer the posed question

Although it was not an easy task, everyone rose up to the challenge. The participants brought up some interesting points, discussed key issues and offered some great ideas, all of which were recorded in a confidential manner by Board members.

The goal of this series of consultations was to help Women's Network PEI develop an updated strategic vision. The next step will see our Board of Directors compile all of these discussions as well as the data captured during two focus groups held earlier this year.

The organizers would like to sincerely thank everyone who took part in this process. These events helped paint a clearer picture of what the needs of Islander women are and what Women's Network can do to keep raising the status of women on PEI. We appreciate your continued support.
