On November 10, 2024, WNPEI held its eagerly awaited annual fundraiser, "Celebrate Island Women," at Charlottetown's Trailside Music Hall. It was an evening brimming with entertainment, community spirit, and dedication to gender equity.
The night showcased enthralling performances by local artists Alicia Toner, Joce Reyome, Brielle Ansems, and Keelin Wedge, with the engaging Tamara Steele as emcee. The audience enjoyed a rich mix of music and songs, honouring the fortitude and spirit of Island women and gender-diverse individuals.
More than just a display of local talent, the event was a pivotal fundraiser for WNPEI's initiatives. In total, the fundraiser raised over $7000 for Women’s Network PEI! The proceeds will bolster the organization's mission to empower women and gender-diverse people, promoting fair access to resources and opportunities.
The event's triumph was mirrored in the community's vibrant participation, with a full house and substantial sponsorships and contributions—a reflection of Prince Edward Island's solid commitment to gender equity.
As the event concluded, it was apparent that "Celebrate Island Women" had achieved more than just fundraising; it had reinforced the community's solidarity. Bolstered by steadfast community support, WNPEI is excited to advance its essential work.
