Still Visible
Still Visible is a Charlottetown-based peer support group for self-identified senior women (including transwomen, gender non-binary and genderqueer folks) ages 55 plus.
Still Visible supports building connections to help reduce social isolation for senior women and meets every two weeks from October to April to explore gender, shared experience and aging.
When the group first meets in October, participants collaborate to select topics and activities they want to explore in each session.
Still Visible 2024-2025 meets on Thursdays at 12 noon at the Haviland Club in Charlottetown.
Session schedule:
- Starting at 12 noon, participants enjoy lunch served by a certified Red Seal chef (dietary needs and restrictions are met)
- From 1-2:30 pm, participants explore a topic of their choice, which may include a presentation by a guest or expert speaker
- From 2:30-3 pm, the group wraps up their session for the day
*Travel subsidy is available for those traveling 15 km or more one way
This project is funded by the Interministerial Women's Secretariat, Province of PEI.
