The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing, coordinating and facilitating several short-term Women's Network PEI programs. Fostering good relationships with program partners is a critical part of this job.

Position Details

Reporting to:  Director of Operations

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create a work plan for program activities and ensure that program schedules are feasible and meet project deliverables.
  • Work with the administrative coordinator to ensure food and venue are taken care of for each program.
  • Coordinate finalizing resource people, guest speakers and other logistics.
  • Develop agendas and curricula to support each of the programs.
  • Work with a co-facilitator (when available) to develop meaningful learning opportunities for participants in each program.
  • Develop an evaluation plan for each program and ensure evaluation is conducted efficiently and on time.
  • Act as the point person for participants in each of the programs.
  • Ensure program budgets are managed effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with applicable organizations for program success.
  • Support clientele with system navigation.
  • Maintain confidentiality while adhering to the duty to report.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Understanding of intersectional feminist approaches and applying gender and diversity lenses,
  • Knowledge of social justice and feminist issues in PEI and beyond,
  • Understanding of and ability to work from a strength-based and client-centred approach,
  • Leadership skills and self-driven work ethic,
  • Proven community development and networking skills,
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, and
  • A valid driver licence.

Compensation

This part-time position is based in Charlottetown and will require travel across the province. Most of the work should take place during regular business hours, however, some evenings and weekend work may be required. The position is 24 hours a week at $28 an hour for 32 weeks. The anticipated start date is August 12th, 2024.
